School Profile
Star of the Sea Catholic Kindergarten is a non-profit kindergarten under the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. Our school was founded in August 1976 and moved to its current school site in 1995. Our school has the name same as the sanctuary of our parish, which is based on the name of the patron saint - Our Lady, Star of the Sea.
The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong in Chai Wan not only adheres to its long-standing mission of serving the community, raising the standard of education, assisting the poor, and preaching the Gospel, but also seeks to establish a partnership and close collaboration with local organizations and institutions. Since Star of the Sea Catholic Kindergarten has spacious school premises and makes good use of its resources, in response to the needs of the community, it was necessary to expand and to provide suitable pre-school education services. Therefore, a nursery was established in the same school premises in April 2010, named as Star of the Sea Catholic Nursery.

School Mission
We adhere to Catholicism’s spirit of love and serving as the foundations of our school education, and learn the virtues of love, humility, gentleness, and patience from Our Lady, Star of the Sea. We are committed to providing children with a diverse and quality education that can foster their initiative and positive attitude when facing difficulties, and to let them grow up happily in a life of faithfulness, trust, filial piety, and love.
School Aims
Through Our Lady’s examples of virtues, including love for God, humility, gentleness, and patience, children can learn the conduct of life, correct values, and grow to be a decent and honest person through daily life and games.

| Teachers’ Qualification: |
-100% of the teachers in the school are qualified kindergarten teachers. -100% of the teachers hold a certificate in kindergarten education. -The principal and three teachers hold a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education. -One teacher is currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Early Childhood Education. -The principal has completed the Kindergarten Principal and Child Care Center Supervisor training course and the Certificate in Special Education course. -One teacher has a Diploma in Child Psychology, a Diploma in Child Health and Nutrition, a professional Diploma in Child Development Therapy, and a foundation course in Catering for Diverse Learning Needs. -Two teacher has completed the Diverse Learning Needs Advanced Course. -One teacher has completed the Quality English Language Education at Pre-primary Level Project. |
